After the passing away of Dilip Kumar and Raj Kaushal, the entire film and TV industry is now mourning the loss of veteran actress Surekha Sikri. For the uninitiated, Surekha Sikri passed away on Friday morning due to cardiac arrest. She was 75 and suffering from complications after a second brain stroke. The veteran actress was surrounded by her family and caregivers.

Fans and celebrities took to social media to pay their tributes. Sidharth Shukla, who shared screen space with her in Balika Vadhu also paid tribute to the late actress. Taking to Twitter, Shukla wrote, "RIP Dadisa... May God bless your soul #SurekhaSikri."

Avika Gor, who played the younger version of Anandi in Balika Vadhu also paid tribute to Surekha Sikri. Sharing a picture, she wrote, "I am saddened to know about the demise of my mentor Surekha Sikri Ji, one of the greatest actors and doyen of Indian cinema, a legend. She inspired generations of actors and will always be missed. RIP. Surekha ma'am was an inspiration and showed the way with grace." Karisma Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, and others also paid tribute to the National winning actor.

Surekha Sikri began her career in 1978 with the political drama Kissa Kursi Ka. She later gained popularity for her role as a stern matriarch, Kalyani Devi aka 'Dadisa' in Balika Vadhu. She was also seen in the movie 'Badhaai Ho', co-starring Ayushmann Khurana, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Sanya Malhotra. Other than that, she and Janhvi Kapoor worked together in a short film for Netflix's horror anthology Ghost Stories.
